I really appreciated today's message from Pastor Michael about the Laodicean church found in Revelation 3:14-22. Unfortunately the main problem with this church was in it trusting in its wealth rather than depending on Jesus. This resulted in them being "lukewarm" in their faith, and Jesus rebukes them for it. Also unfortunately the Laodicean church is an apt description of many churches today who trust in their size, popularity, or wealth and believe these are indications of God's approval. Not so. What God seeks is our faith (gold in the passage), to be clothed in the righteousness of Christ (white garments in the passage), and to receive from Jesus eye salve to anoint our eyes (the Word of God in the passage) to remove our spiritual blindness. All three of these are given by Christ to us when we seek Him. These aren't doing good works but rather are given when we fully depend on Jesus. Thanks pastor Michael for sharing God's Word today!
